Gonzaga University is currently searching for candidates who are enthusiastic, highly motivated, and have a strong student development focus for the Residence Director position. The Residence Hall Director (RD) of Gonzaga University is responsible for creating communities that foster personal growth and student involvement. This specific member of the Residence Hall Director team will focus on students living off campus and assisting them in learning independent living skills and participation in more diverse communities. Supervised directly by the Associate Director for Residence Life, this entry level professional position is a live in, 10 month position that assures the quality of life and effective administration of university owned off campus properties ranging from small apartment complexes to houses, collectively serving between 100-200 students. This position serves the primary judicial role the residents by using intervention techniques, reporting incidents, conducting disciplinary meetings, promoting student accountability for actions, and maintaining administrative records to facilitate student development and maintain an orderly life on campus. In addition, this position co-advises some theme houses in the program development area and manages the annual theme program competition. Incumbent will be a member of the central professional residence life team and will have a collateral assignment with the Student Life office in coordinating services and information for students living off campus in non university owned properties, as well as a strong focus on community relations, with the neighborhood association and with established landlords who serve students.
