ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, GREEK LIFE

Loyola Marymount University’s Division of Student Affairs has an immediate opening for an Assistant Director, Greek Life.  This position is responsible for complete advisement and direction of the Greek Life community and all affiliated organizations and boards.   In particular, the Assistant Director will advance and lead the effectiveness of the Greek Life community, oversee all community wide programming and monitor the risk management of all organization’s activities.

 

Primary responsibilities include overseeing and advising all aspects of the fraternity and sorority community; providing day-to-day management including advisement of all chapter officers, the Greek Council, Panhellenic Recruitment, Fraternity Recruitment, Greek Week, Order of Omega and other related committees and events; developing educational programs which reflect the needs of the fraternity and sorority student population; maintaining positive and active working relationships with external advisors, alumni(ae), officers,  local law enforcement agencies and community officials; monitoring the risk management of all organizations’ activities to ensure compliance and safety; setting goals; managing budgets for the fraternity and sorority communities; and participating in the development and implementation of a divisional student leadership program.

We seek candidates who typically possess a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in student development in higher education or related field and who have three years experience in Greek Life advisement in progressively responsible positions.  Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge in the areas of student development, program coordination, student leader advisement, parliamentary procedure, leadership development, conflict management, mediation, judicial board advisement, group dynamics and fiscal management.  

Exemplary communication, organizational and leadership skills are essential.
