The coordinator demonstrates effective communication skills and the ability to build partnerships and collaborate with a variety of constituencies. The coordinator has an understanding of the liberal arts and an appreciation for the growing role technology plays in the delivery of career services. Description of Duties/Responsibilities: Essential Functions Maintains the NACElink program to serve both employers and students. Teaches and leads in formal and informal settings career decision making classes, workshops and makes presentations in a variety of venues With a through knowledge of the graduate and professional school admission process, conducts information sessions, workshops, and presentations to large and small groups regarding graduate school admission process. Conducts individual career counseling and can interprete typical career assessments both paper and online. Initiates employer relationships and establishes recruiting services for students and employers which includes on-campus and off campus interviews internships and full-time employment opportunities. Collaborate with alumni services to establish relationships with alumni particularly for internships and employment opportunities. Maintains a part-time job referral system. Maintains comprehensive records of the utilization of career services by the College community. Collaborates with alumni office and the office of institutional research to plan follow-up on graduates. Directs a comprehensive internship program. Maintaining and cultivating a variety of internship sites for credit and noncredit. Teaches SAS301- career related internship to upperclassmen for degree credit. 13 Coordinates career fairs and other events that assist students in gathering information for career/employment. 14. maintains career services website 15.Develop comprehensive marketing strategies to advertise career services opportunities, events, programming, etc. Makes career services presentations to large and small groups of parents, students including prospective students, alumni, and employers. Maintains contacts with local, regional, and national counterparts at other institutions of higher education. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Sound knowledge of career development theory and human relations skills necessary to deliver effective, full-service higher education career development services for a diverse clientele. Knowledge of principles and techniques of counseling and occupational trends and projections with particular emphasis on liberal arts graduates. Knowledge of academic environments especially liberal arts college Ability to work independently and with careful attention to detail. Ability to collaborate and work with a team. exhibit organizational skills as well as explain and delicate when appropriate Proficiency with technological applications and career assessment instruments, including the ability to post on-line resources/make links and perform functions with web updates and on personal computer or the ability to develop these skills in a reasonable period of time following employment. Ability to actively listen to constituencies, identify problems and work toward solutions to those problems. The ability to organize multiple tasks often at the same time. Excellent written, organizational, and public speaking skills. Availability for occasional work in the evenings and weekends. Qualification Standards: Education/Experience: Master's degree in college student personnel with concentration in career services or equivalent.
